Children Are a Gift from God – A heartfelt Reflection on Children. Today I don’t want to teach or preach. I just want to sit down and chat with you for a moment. It’s one of those days where a single thought keeps circling in my mind:
Joy comes from God.
Last week I was sitting in front of my laptop, trying to come up with a slogan for a toddler T‑shirt. Believe me, there are plenty of ideas out there. But my heart always leans toward faith‑based designs. The older I get, the more important it becomes to quiet the noise and focus on what truly matters.
What to Put on a Toddler Shirt
I looked at what was already on the market, and faith shirts were definitely in the minority. It’s hard to put something like “God Saves” on a toddler shirt — yes, they’re born in sin, but they haven’t sinned yet. And kids… well, kids are one of my favorite topics anyway.
My mind drifted back to when my grandchildren were small. The noise level in my house went up by 80%. The quiet disappeared — and oh, what a joy that was. I became a busy beaver, running from the kitchen to the pool, serving those little princes and princesses everything their hearts desired. I practically carved a footpath from the fridge to the water.
Always Joy
Don’t get me wrong — those were the happiest days of my life. That’s where my mind went as I searched for the next big toddler shirt idea. Kids are always filled with joy. It’s like they have a bottomless well inside them, bubbling over with laughter and excitement.
And joy… real joy… comes from God. I’ve always known that. Money, people, gold, silver — none of those things can give lasting happiness. Earthly things fade. But when joy comes from God, it stays. Even on the grayest days, happiness finds you when you trust Him.
Back to the Kids and Their Joy
Then it hit me — right between the eyes.
Children are a Gift from God… and so Is Joy.
Children are His gift of joy to every home. When you first get married, life is fun. You do what you want, when you want. You think you’re happy. But then one day you feel that tiny kick inside your stomach — and a joy like no other fills your heart.
God has given you life. A baby. JOY.
And just like that, I had my new toddler shirt slogan:
Joy Comes From God.
Because every little child who wears that shirt is also a gift from God — a living reminder of joy.
In Conclusion
Children are a gift from God. They fill our hearts with a joy bigger than anything we could ever imagine. Let’s treat them like the precious treasures they are. Raise them in the presence of the Almighty, and they will never be lost. Yes, they may wander, but the voice of God will always call them back. And they will never lose that childhood joy that comes from Him.
